چکیده

After recalling features of solitons in the Toda (more precisely an adapted Morse-Toda) lattice a succint discussion is provided about the stability of such solitons when the lattice is heated up to physiological temperatures for values of parameters typical of bio-macro-molecules. Then the discussion is focused on the soliton trapping of an added excess (originally free) electron thus creating the solectron electric carrier. Results are presented for 1dand 2d-anharmonic crystal lattices.

Numerical Evidence of soliton-Mediated electron Pairing in heated anharmonic crystal Lattices

Solitons in molecular systems are local compressions due to the interaction between the molecules or atoms which typically have a strongly repulsive part and a weakly attractive one. Approximating this interaction by Morse exponential potentials (akin to Lennard–Jones power laws) it has been shown that, in an appropriate temperature range, solitons may be excited (for biomolecules this correspo...

Effect of anharmonicity on charge transport in hydrogen-bonded systems

We study solitonic charge transport in a hydrogen-bonded model system representing a one-dimensional polypeptide chain. Supersonic solitons are constructed for zero temperature in the frame of a Morse lattice model for which an nonlinear electronic system is coupled in a tight-binding approximation to H-bond vibrations of the molecular chain. The latter are of anharmonic nature. Charge transpor...

Linear and Nonlinear Dust Acoustic Waves in Quantum Dusty Electron-Positron-Ion Plasma

The behavior of linear and nonlinear dust acoustic waves (DAWs) in an unmagnetized plasma including inertialess electrons and positrons, ions, and mobile positive/negative dust grains are studied. Reductive perturbation method is employed for small and finite amplitude DAWs. To investigate the solitary waves, the Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation is derived and the solution is presented. B...

Electron Trapping by solitons: Classical versus Quantum Mechanical Approach

In two previous letters [Velarde et al., 2005, 2006] a new form of electric conduction mediated by solitons was shown to be possible in an anharmonic one-dimensional (1D) lattice. In the first, a strictly classical approach was adopted hence treating the lattice dynamics classically and the electron-(ion) lattice interaction with classical electrodynamics. In the second, the electron-lattice in...

On soliton-Mediated Fast Electric conduction in a Nonlinear Lattice with Morse Interactions

In a previous letter [Velarde et al., 2005] a new form of electric conduction mediated by solitons was shown to be possible in an anharmonic Toda lattice. In the presence of an external electric field this current can be much higher than the Drude-Ohm linear current and, as the field is lowered, the current achieves a finite, constant, field-independent value. The model studied therein is stric...
